4/18/2023 0 Comments Vinylium dubplate cutter![]() Its obvious that a blunt diamond gets lower quality-i make around a hundred cuts with a diamond. Temperature is an issue hehehehe! i mounted a 60watt lightbulb so that it warms the plate! but ive realised when everything is too hot-the motor gets unstable-wobblebusiness, so there again its experience and what works best!īut thats the case with lacquerlathes and sapphires as well, they get heated when cutting and heliumcooled to not explode at the same time! I am an engineer since 1984 and am mastering music since 1996 ![]() they had basic producer knowledge (beefy snare how?) ![]() i know 2 engineers that have bought and resold an old lathecutter and went out of business. Luckily my machine has paid itself! i did maybe 500 cuts in 2006 and 20 in 2008 mate this business is going down like-very fast and the top cutting/mastering studios for a mothercut have crumbled into like 10 worldwide!Īnother thing-if you have very little audio knowledge (like transients are what? sibbilance is why? loudness how many?) i highly advise you to either upgrade your knowledge or leave it completely. I guess if you want to invest into a pro setup you should consider going to transition, dubplates&mastering berlin or that heathman guy that opened a new studio to get infos on what you need and get a lathe cut and a vinyl cut of the same tune to hear a difference It is for the producer/dj crowd and has its own little glory with itf champions scratching with these and apparently there are a couple of topdjs like fatboyslim and some dubstep mans dem outta bristol that swear the vinylrecorder cuts are dope! The vinylrecorder is not made for perfect 1to1 cuts or lathemothers, tho you can cut on lathe no problem and there are dudes doing motherlathes with this machine I own a vinylrecorder by 'zem crazy tschermans' since 2003 and cut maybe a 1000 cuts since then-some sounding marvelous, some sounding shit due to various mistakes by myself or due to shit cutting diamonds or vinylblanks.Īctually it is NO mistery make GOOD cuts within a short period of time, but you learn on how to tune audio to get cut.Ī blank costs me close to an euro, a lathe blank will cost you 30 euros if you buy 500 pieces souri has sold maybe 25-30 machines worldwide i personally have seen the vinylium on a demo and it buggered up right there, they sold maybe 1 to 3 of their machines. fact is souri has sold more vinylrecorders than any other company has sold their devices. some nonbelievers spread nonsense abt the vinylrecorder 'has no hi-end,noisy,signal to noise-rahrahrah. Two different medias that got hotly discussed on various forums. Vinylrecorder is cutting STEREO on true vinyl Vinylium is cutting MONO or STEREO on lathes
